Lexington ISD has continued to monitor the weather forecasts for the remainder of the week as we approach Saturday’s graduation ceremony. Based on those forecasts and the amount of rain that we have received in recent days, we have made the decision to hold the ceremony in the A.P. Kleinschmidt Gymnasium. To accommodate this change in venue, we will be providing additional seating for our attendees.
Each graduate will receive 2 tickets for parents/guardians to sit in a reserved area of chair seating on the gym floor. We will have staff members available to usher those individuals to their reserved area. We will also have additional chair seating available on the gym floor along with the bleachers to accommodate all other attendees. We believe there will be enough seating throughout the gym to accommodate all attendees at Saturday’s ceremony. Therefore, we will not be limiting the number of attendees. It is extremely important that all attendees sit only in the designated seating areas, either in the bleachers or in the chair seating, to ensure the exits are not blocked. This will also allow for the graduates to move freely during the processional and recessional of the ceremony.
Doors will open at 7:00 PM. All guests will need to enter the gymnasium through the main entrance by the concession stand. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this change in venue may cause, but we are confident that Saturday’s graduation ceremony will be a special event to recognize our graduates. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing in this special moment with our LHS Class of 2016!
