Due to the passage of HB 2610, public school districts are required to meet the minimum total minutes of instruction of 75,600 minutes throughout the duration of a school year. Lexington ISD will exceed the required total for the 2015-16 school year, which has allowed us to “bank” additional minutes of instruction and move up the last day of the school year to May 25th. In addition, we also have additional banked minutes to allow us to make Friday, April 22nd, a school holiday. Therefore, LISD will recognize Friday, April 22nd, as a school holiday.
